Hall of Fame Inductees

Westfall Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes the accomplishments of our athletes, teams, and coaches throughout our history. Any staff member, coach, alumni, or community member can nominate a former athlete or contributor to the athletic program.

On Saturday, January 25, Westfall inducted new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame for the Class of 2024. Prior to the varsity boys' basketball game against Paint Valley, Westfall High School honored Shane Hegarty, David Jones, John Koehler, and Jessica (Rodgers) Sullivan.

Shane Hegarty
Shane is a 1995 graduate of Westfall High School. Shane played football and ran track as a Mustang. As a four-year varsity football player under Keith Downing, Shane was a team captain his senior year. Shane was a three-time all-SVC player, two-time all-county player, and two-time district player and played in the Central Ohio and South Central Ohio all-star games. Shane was also a four-year varsity track athlete under Jerry Mudd. Shane was a regional qualifier in the discus and shot put in 1994 and 1995. Shane still holds both the shot put and discus records here at Westfall. Shane is currently a concrete sales rep for Anderson Concrete. He and his wife, Christina, have one daughter, Ashley. They currently reside in Orient, Ohio.  

David Jones
David Jones
David graduated from Westfall High School in 2005. He played football, wrestled, and ran track as a Mustang. Under Scott Bartholomew, David earned All-State honors on defense in 2004. As a wrestler under Dennis Hammond, David was a three-time state qualifier. He finished fifth at the state tournament in 2004 and eighth in 2005. While in high school, David was a member of the National Honor Society and Eagle Scouts and won the Columbus Dispatch Warren Sneed Scholar-Athlete Award.

David earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Ohio University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, serving as the President of the OU Chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers, and was the Robe Leadership Institute Scholar.

David is currently an engineer at Honeywell Aerospace. He is a member of the Northwest Community Church and a CCV Stars soccer coach. He and his wife, Misti, live in Peoria, Arizona, with their children, Evan and Ellie. His parents and brother Steve accept the award on his behalf.

John Koehler
John Koehler
John is a 1997 graduate of Westfall High School. John lettered in baseball, basketball, and football. John was a four-year letter winner and captain in his senior year as a football player. He earned All-SVC honors for three years, including being the SVC lineman of the year his senior year, all-county linebacker, Agonis Club Honorable Mention Linebacker, First-Team South Central District, Honorable Mention Region 14, and All-Ohio honors his senior year. While playing football at Westfall, John and his teammates won 3 SVC Championships and were the first football team at Westfall to make the OHSAA playoffs. John went on to play football at Wittenberg University.

John is currently a special education teacher at West Jefferson High School. He and his wife Brandi live in Grove City with their two children, Landen and Lainey.

Jessica (Rodgers) Sullivan
Jessica (Rodgers) Sullivan
Jessica is a 2005 graduate of Westfall High School, where she was a National Honor Society member and served as class treasurer. As a player at Westfall, Jessica lettered for four years in volleyball, basketball, and softball. She earned All-SVC honors in softball, all-SVC, and all-district honors in volleyball (and she and her teammates won the SVC title in 2004). As a basketball player, she earned all-SVC, all-county, and all-district honors (she and her teammate won the SVC title for basketball in 2005). She was the Wendy's Player of the Year and earned All-Ohio honors in 2005.

Jessica went on to play volleyball at Rio Grande and volleyball, basketball, and softball at Ohio University-Chillicothe.

Jessica is currently a teacher at Westfall Middle School. Jessica also served as a varsity volleyball coach here at Westfall. Her teams won the SVC title in 2013 and 2019, and she was named SVC Coach of the Year in 2019. She and her husband Jason live in Ashville with their children Jaxton, Jayleigh, Brooke, and Austin.
